In order for people to be aware of a veteran’s condition after war the media should portray the importance of the veterans’ health after war. In my part to get students aware at my school I will volunteer and invite students by passing out flyers for the Stand Down 2014 For Homeless Veterans. I will make a drive at school where food and clothes can be donated to those homeless veterans. When students are informed about this drive they will be motivated to help if they see other students participating in the drive. Having this drive can serve as a community service or developing skills to approach other people who are in need in a healthy way. To make this drive happen I would have to conduct meetings at least three days of the week and find a good number of volunteers to help. The difficulties I would face with gathering volunteers and this drive is emphasizing the importance of how veterans suffer living a normal life and why students should care to take an action. This drive for the homeless veterans would involve a lot of time and commitment from me. If this drive were to be successful more students will be motivated and interested to volunteer. Being successful in this action will also help many more veterans better their health, and give them more hope, because they feel people are spending their time trying to help them live a normal life after living a life of war.
