Thesis: Veterans who are diagnosed with PTSD are not getting resources needed to treat their mental disorder. The lack of resources puts veterans at a higher risk of affecting their health, social life, and employment.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that is triggered by a terrifying event in which the person has experienced or witnessed. Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and uncontrolled thoughts about the event. The symptoms may get worse and last for months, even years. However there are three main symptoms that the person experiences. (Post-traumatic stress disorder). 1. Reliving the trauma. 2. Staying away from places or people that remind the person of the trauma, and feeling numb. 3.Feeling on guard, and startled easily.
